‘The Return of the Rudeboy' was an immersive exhibition last year at Somerset House in London exploring the style, swagger and significance of the 21st century Rudeboy, including original photography, film, installations and a programme of live events. Created by Photographer and Film maker Dean Chalkley and Creative Director Harris Elliott, the depiction reveals a collective of sharply dressed individuals who exemplify an important and rarely documented subculture. The duo has photographed over 60 sharply dressed individuals from across the UK, all of whom embody the essence of what it is to be a Rudeboy (or Rudie) in the 21st century, to document the life, style and attitude of this growing urban group. Originating from the streets of Kingston, Jamaica in the late 1950s, Rudeboy or Rudie came to represent the young rebels who wore distinctively sharp sartorial styles such as Mohair suits, thin ties and pork pie hats. The ‘Return of the Rudeboy’ exhibition has now been encapsulated into a beautifully printed 128-page hard cover book. Containing unseen images, essays on Rudeboy heritage and culture and references to the curated spaces at the Somerset House exhibition.

Founded only in 2015 LA-based RHUDE has already successfully accomplished its place in the fashion world, by owning an unique minimalistic look with vintage inspiration. Now in 2019, RHUDE collaborates the first time with PUMA, launching four different sneakers.
RHUDE x PUMA Cell Alien takes PUMA’s classic style to new day, by making the sneakers completely black. The upper is a playful combination of leather and mesh, finished with reflective accents. The whole look comes together with beige midsole and Cell technology, which pops out by being neon green. These sneakers are everything but a normal black sneaker, that gets faded away in the streets.
The sneakers are accompanied by five different styles; two track jackets, one pair of pants, and two different colour of vintage styled t-shirt.

Phillips uses collaborative forms of image production to reorder the relationship of Pop art to its subjects. The staging and format of his films presage the return of their subjects as paintings; eventually, they form the foundation for lush, large-scale works such as Sasha (2012), Lindsay II (2012), and Lindsay III (2012), realist portraits of the place-holders of their own mediated existence. In addition to working with Lohan and Grey, Phillips has collaborated with Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima to create a new series of paintings that depict her against backdrops of iconic Brazilian landmarks, such as Oscar Niemeyer’s Cathédral de Brasília, the patterned sidewalks of Copa Cabana, and the favelas of Rio. In these scenes, such as Adriana I (2012), in which Lima poses seductively across the roof of the cathedral, the impact of her preternatural beauty and the aura she commands as a supermodel is conflated, and thus equated with, national icons of economic, political, and religious culture.

Emerging from a family background in the print industry, a sector closely related to the fashion industry, the guys cultivated relationships within the fashion industry taking plenty of notes along the way. Joshua Cooper and Laurence Chandler has since their debut collection in 2008 gained critical acclaim for their brand Rochambeau. Rochambeau, which is French for the popular game rock-paper-scissors. As such, each of the three members brings their own individual strength to the table. The self-taught designers, Josh and Laurence have relied on trial and error to create their collections, drawing inspiration from their background as skaters and streetwear enthusiasts.
